This is Jacksonville.
Devon and Jake’s couple session at the Ortega Bridge area was full of charm, love, and a little extra fun—thanks to their adorable dog who joined in on the shoot. With the picturesque bridge, stunning waterfront views, and golden hour light, this session perfectly captured their connection and the joy of this sweet little family. Riverside, Avondale, and Ortega are such special places to our city so I am always super thankful for anyone who wants to capture their session there.
Walking the walk
Ortega Bridge Park offers so much variety in one location. On one side, you have the beautiful marina with boats gently swaying in the water, while the other side showcases the Jacksonville skyline and the Ortega Bridge itself. If you’re up for a short walk, crossing the bridge leads you into the historic Ortega neighborhood, where moss-covered trees line the streets, creating a timeless and romantic backdrop for photos.
Tips for Pups
One tip we always share with clients who want to bring their dog is to bring along someone to help handle them during the session. It makes the process so much smoother, allowing us to get a mix of photos—both with and without their furry friend. Devon’s dad happily tagged along for this session, taking care of their pup while we captured some beautiful solo shots of just the two of them.
Timeless looks.
We absolutely loved Devon and Jake’s retro aesthetic—Devon’s funky printed, orange dress paired perfectly with Jake’s light blue jacket, creating a striking contrast that added another dimension to the photos. It’s a great reminder that a session is always a collaboration between client and photographer—when personal style and creative vision come together, the results are pure magic.
